Berry Picky: Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation

Friday, June 7

Hi guys! One of my favorite drugstore brands is Maybelline because of all the great products they come out with, but today I wanted to talk about one that I ended up disliking  over time. When I first purchased Maybelline Fit Me I was so
excited because I ended up matching the second to the last shade (355 Coconut) perfectly. This is a plus because
my skin is super complicated with my arms being golden while my face haves more red undertones. Most foundations for darker skin tones only have yellow undertones which make me look ashy and no one wants a ashy face!
I apologize for the nude nails... I usually put a top coat or something but forgot :P

One of the things that I love about this product is that it have a built in SPF 18 and blends flawlessly like I mentioned before but a huge downside is that it looks horrid on oily skin types. I tend to have oily skin in the summer and combination in the winter, because of this I always had to use blotting paper or apply powder to decrease the Crisco shine effect this foundation haves. By the end of the day I was a little disappointed Fit Me foundation because its not made for every skin type, only dry/normal. If they made a Fit Me for oil/combo skin I would love this product and found my "perfect" foundation match, unfortunately they do not have this choice and I'm still on the hunt for my flawless match... BUT if all else fails BB cream and I shall be buddies for life ;)

Over all I believe this foundation will be perfect for anyone who is looking for medium coverage and have normal/dry skin because Fit Me will keep your skin hydrated and refreshed. Also I looked it up online and they have one shade darker then 355 Coconut and sixteen lighter... *says in a sarcastic tone* oh the joys of drugstore brands!

What's your favorite foundation? Leave a comment below so I can check it out :)

Sending lots of love...
xoxo

  4. Oh, no! I have oily skin so I guess this wouldn't work for me. My favorite foundation is the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation! It feels very light and works well for me and my oily skin! :D

  8. I actually have normal to dry skin...so does that mean the foundation would work for me? I sure hope so! I'm actually heard raves on this product, so I'm quite eager to try it out. But thank you for such an honest review, most reviews I see just talk about the positives of the product but your's is so balanced!

  10. I would advise that you try it and keep the recipt because most drugstores have great return policies! Also I think it would be wonderful for dry skin because it leaves skin with a refreshed look. :) Thanks for the nice comment!

  23. I've heard so many good things about this foundation, but I agree, such a shame about the shade range, always happens in drug stores!!

  24. I agree with you, the finish is beautiful but for my skin (which is oily) it ended up making my face look extremely shiny after a hour or two! Don't get me wrong, I love Maybelline but this product ended up not working for my skin type. If they came out with a Fit Me for oily skin I would of loved it :) <3

I brought this foundation last month or so, I used it on my http://haul-oholic.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/2500-face.html £25.00 face look, I have to say despite being the oppersite shade to you (Im the lightest!) I LOVE this!

  42. Oh so cool! Haha, I only disliked it because it wasn't made for oily skin but I'm glad you found your foundation match :)

  43. I am continuing to look for a drugstore medium coverage foundation especially for summer and with spf 18 this maybe one that I will have to invest in. As you mentioned it keeps your skin hydrated which will be perfect for Summer.
