Berry Picky Review: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo

Today I'm officially 19 years old! Woohoo! *Throws colorful confetti in the sky*

Last year was a challenge for me [I talked briefly about the different challenges in a past post that you can read here] but I'm glad I experienced everything because I learned a LOT. Any-who I'm writing this post in advance because I'm unsure exactly what my family I will be doing today so... hi from the past, here's a review for you :)

Hi beauties! It's been awhile since I did a Berry Picky Review so today I thought I would review something I've been holding off for awhile, Fresh Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo!

About a year ago I received this in the mail on my birthday for being apart of the Sephora Beauty Insider Club. When I first opened the little box I  loved the packaging which features a sleek tube with big but not annoying print telling you that the product haves 15 SPF to protect your lips. After reading that I was so excited to try it out because I received this in the summer  but didn't have may lip products with SPF.
But after a few short weeks I stopped using the product and started using Maybelline Baby Lips aka the drugstore version of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. Now if your wondering why I started using the dupe instead of the original its because the biggest flaw about Fresh Sugar is that it melts very easily! Sure every lip product melts to some degree but this melted so bad that the stick of lip product broke and I had to reshape it and put it back in the tube in order to keep using it!

But moving on to the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in "Rose", aside from the melting problem I had with the original Fresh Sugar I also experienced another problem, the red color didn't show up on my lips. I think its because I'm a darker skin tone but even with that they should make a product opaque for every skin color.

Regardless of the melting problem I love this product but will not buy the full size, I would rather go to my local drugstore and buy Maybelline Baby Lips because Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments cost $22.50 at Sephora, while Maybelline Baby Lips only cost $2.99 at Target. But if you live in a cooler climate and have a light skin tone I think you would love Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. I live in the south so it's always hot and humid and I think that's why my product was so melty... well wait... no, that can't be the problem because my house isn't 90 something degrees!

Hope you liked this Berry Picky review, If you have any questions leave it as a comment and I will reply to you very soon :)

As always...
xoxo

  4. I agree with you, I enjoy these but wouldn't buy the full size. They are moisturizing and give a nice plump sheen to the lips but the price is too high for me to justify it. Still great products though!

  13. They are really nice but the melting was a bit of a problem... so warning don't take it with you if your going to be outside for anytime longer then 5 minutes!

  15. Exactly, there are plenty of drugstore brands that do almost the same thing, but 1/4th of the price!
