Fourth of July Look: Glitter Ombre Nails

Friday, June 28

Hi guys! Today I wanted to do a super cute and simple nail look for the Fourth of July!

You will need...
  • Red, white and blue nail polishes
  • A glitter polish with blue and silver tones
  • Top coat and base coat
  • Q-tips
  • Make-up sponge
  • Nail polish remover
Start off with applying your base coat following up with 2 coats of white nail polish. I apply coats to make sure the color my polish is opaque, but if
you need more or less coats its all up to you! Make sure your let your nails fully dry before you move on to the next step, otherwise you will ruin the ombre effect we are trying to accomplish.

Next you want to apply two wet coats of the blue nail polish to your makeup sponge and start to stipple the color on your nails top to bottom. Remember to apply the most amount at the top and gradually blend to the bottom. You're trying to achieve a fading effect. :)

Now we are going to add the glitter nail polish on top of the blue polish. Make sure you apply the most glitter at the top to continue the fading effect. I use glitter with blue tones so it can repucate a "star" look without actually having stars on the nails. This is my favorite part of the nail look because I love glitter nail polish! <3

If you went outside the lines, like I did, clean up  the look with nail polish remover. Finish with topcoat and you're all done! :)

What's your favorite thing to do on the fourth of July?

I hope you liked this nail look and will try it out! :)
As always...
xoxo
P.S. I just uploaded a new video last night about DIY bracelets for the Fourth of July! Check it out HERE or below
