Giving Thanks | Berry Personal #12

By now you've probably noticed all the blog post going around talking about what everyone is thankful for, and just recently I read one by Kim over at 2JustByYou. In Kim's post she talked about how important it is to be grateful for the things we are blessed with rather than complaining about them. So here's a list of 7 things I'm thankful for <3

For growing up in a big Family

I have to admit one huge downside to having a big family is the constant noise, but I'm most grateful for always having someone to talk to. Even at 2 in the morning. :)

For learning the value of working hard at a young age

When I was younger I would always complain about having to work really hard for things I wanted because my parents would never just give us money, or expense toys. We always had to work for it by doing extra chores around the house. And just like every 6 year old on the planet, I thought my parents were being unfair and strict. But now that I'm older I realize how they were just trying to teach me a valuable life lesson at a young age.

For having a Dad who works hard every day

If I only had one word to describe my dad I would use the word, consistent. Literally every morning he goes to work at 5:30 AM, not a minute before or later. I really admire this particular personality trait because we can always count on him to get things done. Hopefully one day I'll to inherit this character trait, because I tend to be a unpredictable carefree type of girl :)

For my, dog Bella

About a year ago we adopted Bella because her previous owner no longer wanted her. During that time I was going through a rough life transition and she always there for me. Whether I needed to cuddle up next to her and watch movies or just keep me company, she was always there for me. To this day she still follows me around and is always by my side.. even now, as I'm writing this post.

For my best friend

This one is a long one because I know if I write two line she will be like, "really Sierra? Glad to know our friendship is only worth two lines!" And I know she will read this because she has supported my blog from the start.

We've been friends for over 7 years (Just imagine knowing someone for over one third of your life!), and throughout the years she has never disappointed me. Yes, we fight sometimes (well we like to call them debates), but we are always there for each other, understand each other, and know when to give the other personal space. I think the reason why we have been friends for such a long time is because we are similar enough to get along but different enough to learn something from each other ever day. I hope that we will remain friends for a long time, and the only thing that I can think of that will ruin our friendship is her insane addiction to Candy Crush and watching Doctor Who -.-

For falling in love for the first time

I kinda don't know what to put here, but since he doesn't read my blog post I can safely get away with only writing two lines :)

I'm thankful that we met each other and I had a chance to be apart of his life, and I'm glad that I got to experience loving someone on a deeper unconditional level. Maybe years from now one day I'll be able to  talk more about it but for now I'm just keeping it short :)

And for God

On this blog I try to stay away from talking about relationships (both romantic and family/friend oriented) but since I already broke that rule by the 5th "thanks" I guess it would be weird not to talk about the most important relationship in my life. He's always there for me regardless if I deserved it or not. He has blessed me with a family, a best friend, a dog, a pleasant childhood, falling in love, and so much more. I'm just happy to have Him in my life :)

  39. Exactly! I think people learn so much from taking care of their sibling, and in my case I always joke how I learned everything I need to know about kids from watching them. By the way I'm a middle child, but once my older siblings moved out I took over ^.^

  44. Aww, what a lovely post.

It's always nice to be thankful for everything we have, sometimes we can over look things. Our little dog was adopted too, and he follows us around like a shadow. I think it's because they know they are loved and they can't believe they are so lucky after rough starts in life! :)
